Recent Best Western Rio Grande Review: "In the past, I've been disappointed with hotels provided through other discounters. Not this one -- this was very good! Room was clean, beds were clean. Check-in was painless. Extra towels were provided promptly upon request. Entire hotel seemed well-maintained. An elevator had problems, but these were addressed on the next business day, and there were always alternate elevators nearby. Cleaning staff respected the "Do Not Disturb" sign. One time in the hallway when we were entering the room, a lady asked if we wanted service, but when we declined, there were no more questions, and more importantly, no unwanted intrusions. This pleased us. Though there was a wired internet port on the wall at the desk, it didn't work. Wireless access worked OK, but I didn't often get more than 25% signal (though it improved as I moved the laptop away from the cinderblock wall). Electrical outlets for charging/running our "stuff" were a bit hit or miss (most of them no longer put much grip on plugs), and we found one that wouldn't work at all. We didn't turn on the TV or surf any channels. Our room adjoined the next, with a door between, though we didn't use this feature. There was a closet with hangers (used) and an iron with board (unused). The bathroom fan/vent either ran slow or not at all, but the hairdryer on the wall was useful for clearing the nice large mirror of shower fog. The bath water control was the usual one-handled design. The shower curtain rod was curved out (very good feature). Shower water temperature had hot and cold surges (annoying but expected). There was a small refrigerator in the room, which we used; it kept our items adequately chilled. We did not use its small freezer section. The controls were easy to adjust, with obvious user-friendly instructions posted."
