Recent Blue Albuquerque Downtown Review: "WAY ABOVE EXPECTATIONS! We booked this hotel as a one-night stay on our journey from Dallas to Lake Tahoe with our two dogs. We booked the hotel because it accepted pets, had a reasonable price that included breakfast, was close enough to the interstate, and the internet info and photos were just fine for our needs. Then,we had an unexpected event happen  to one of our dogs - he became seriously ill while staying at the hotel. In the middle of the night, we had to find an emergency veterinary hospital. The front desk helped us to find one using the internet on the computer in the lobby. Our dog needed emergency surgery and we ended up having to stay at the hotel for a whole week. The entire staff was genuinely concerned about our dog, asking every day about how he was doing, and rejoiced with us upon his release from the veterinary hospital (which was also top notch). We want other pet owners to know that there is a very nice park right across the street for dog walks, and it is even safe at night for those midnight potty runs. In terms of other hotels, this one is not luxurious, nor up-to-date in its style, but for a hotel that has been around a long time and was important during the days of Historic Route 66 vacationers, it is a good choice because of the quality of the hotel compared to cost. There is secure parking, restaurants within walking distance, a microwave, refrigerator, electric fireplace, cable internet, and large flat-panel TV, making our extended stay very comfortable. We highly recommend this hotel because there are such nice people working there, from Alicia at the front desk, who worked out a weekly rate for me, Michelle in the breakfast area who made sure we had food if she knew we might be running late for breakfast, the janitor who reminded me that I had left the lights on inside the car, and the man working the desk in the evenings, who always had a warm greeting for me and the other dog during our vigil.
